Event Information

Title: Being an Ally and Advocate for Women in the Roofing Industry - “I Just Want to Do the Right Thing”

Description:

We hear a lot of talk about being an ally and advocate for various special interest groups, but what does it really mean to be an ally and advocate for women in the roofing industry? At NWiR, we have heard from men that they want to make sure that they are “doing the right thing.” In other words, how can he be an authentic ally and advocate for women whether they are a colleague, manager, customer, peer, or fellow business traveler? This session will use the concepts found in research-based literature as a foundation to share facts and statistics, while male and female panelists will provide best practices and industry anecdotes about what it means to be an authentic ally. We will also discuss important qualities to consider when looking for an advocate in the workplace.
